We’re soaking up our first summer with a lake place, and let
me tell you—there’s nothing quite like it. Hot summer days on the water lead
into beautiful evening sunsets and campfire s’mores.
A recent s'mores session reminded me of something I talked about on It Takes Two with Amy & JJ on KFGO. I’ve been lucky to share bits of my journey—life, loss, and whiskey—on their show the first Tuesday of every month at 12:40 p.m.
At the end of this visit, we discussed how amazing Jack’s Toasted Marshmallow Simple Syrup is and I thought I should share their Toasted Marshmallow Old Fashioned recipe and add this local product to my new Favorite Things page.
I use a simple, classic bourbon like Buffalo Trace or Coopers’ Craft and love using my toasted marshmallow garnish to stir my drink. The gooey, old fashioned-soaked marshmallow makes a tasty finish to this treat in a glass. I toast my marshmallow with a little butane torch so you don’t need a campfire to enjoy this cocktail and it’s a real treat in the winter when summer s’mores are a long way off. Cheers!
