Birthdays are always hard.
We threw big parties. Adam cooked a lot of food.
I feel his absence. Not just for me in all the planning and
prep, but for my children.
I hate that he is not here to see how much they have grown.
It hurts my heart to know the young ages they lost their father: 6, 10, and 11.
And to see how far they have come without him here to cheer them on.
Walter’s in high school, playing Freshman baseball, and driving me around with his permit. He finished out his last year of youth hockey by playing in the Bantam State Tournament.
Ruby is finishing middle school. Took on volleyball and was the last kid birthday party Adam and I threw together in April 2021. A tie dye party in the garage when she turned 10, just a month later Adam was gone.
With Emily finishing 4th grade we say goodbye to elementary school forever. She just killed it at her track meet and has been in student leadership all year.
I’m so proud of them.
Time is passing as it should, but it will forever be marked
by who isn’t here to participate, observe, celebrate.
Sunday marks 4 years since losing Adam.
Have a pour in his honor.
